First part of this really great cruise literally starts with a sunset departure from the glamorous World Financial Center's North Cove marina. We will raise sail (!!) and, wind and weather permit, cross the main shipping channel and ferry lanes, catching the summer breezes coming off the ocean. We will be in great position to view the blazing city lights of Manhattan as we work up to position Ventura as close as possible to the barges launching the fireworks!
A close pass by the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island is guaranteed! We will be so close, you will be able to observe the firey trails of the rockets as they soar upward, prior to exploding in air!
Does this sound like the Star Spangled Banner, or what?
Your picnic dinners and snacks are very welcome aboard. Please remember, your favorite wines and beers are welcome (never a corkage fee or any of that b.s. aboard the good ship Ventura) and that no hard liquor is permitted to be brought aboard. If you do not want to schlepp a lot of weight, we have a way cool self-serve, keep track of your own tab honor bar! Great selection of craft beers, ales, wines and champagne are stocked.
Ticket sales are limited on this cruise, assuring ample room aboard for seating and spreading out your picnic blankets and goodies on Ventura's beautifully varnished (and original from 1919!) teak decks.
In a word, awesome cruise. OK, that was two words.
We look forward to having you aboard -- Capt Pat and crew.
Tickets are non-refundable and the vessel sails rain or shine. In case of cancellation due to really nasty weather conditions and the Captain will cancel the sail and all ticket holders are issued a full credit valid on any other sail aboard Ventura through our 2014 season.
